How James Changes...

3 days old
1 month

4 months

I can't believe how different James looks! It is just crazy to me how much babies change!

4 month old pictures

Last night Mike & I took James to The Picture People to get his 4 month old pictures. (We had a free coupon, yay!) He was so cute! All the pictures turned out really good, so it made it hard to choose. I was a little nervous because it was nap time & we forgot his binky but he was a champ! He didn't cry once. I still don't believe it! Well, here are the two we chose!

Wal Mart Pictures

I got a coupon for free pictures at WalMart before we moved to California and I finally figured out how to scan them so here they are. We took these about a month and a half ago. James already looks different to me. It is crazy how much he changes everyday!

James' first time eating Rice Cereal

He did better than I thought he would. By the end he was keeping most of it in his mouth! He seemed to really like it but he still likes nursing more...YAY! I finally have the hang of nursing and he is eating faster so I really am starting to enjoy it and I was not ready for him to become uninterested. A lot of comments I read online said that their baby lost interest in nursing once they started feeding solid foods so that was my biggest worry. But there is no need to worry anymore! He likes both!!!

Mike's favorite video

Mike thinks this video is so funny and asked me to put it on here. It is super short. :)

4 Months Old

I can't believe my baby is 4 months old already. It is so amazing to watch him grow and discover new things every day. He is such a smart and sweet little boy. So here is what he's up to these days:

* He was sleeping 10 hours a night a week ago but is now going through a growth spurt and doesn't last that long. So we will be trying out rice cereal really soon!

*Says mama and dada. I know he doesn't know what he is saying but it sure makes us feel good! However, we do find it interesting that he when he is hungry and crying he says "mama" over and over;)

*He has become quite the mama and daddy's boy. We have left him twice at night with my mom and he cried the entire time. (And he doesn't normally cry very much). When we got home the first time he let me know that he was mad at me but quickly forgave me and I had to be in his sight for the entire next day. When we came home the second time he stopped crying immediately after I picked him up. And then was smiling at me like he had won the game. What a silly little boy. Since then I have made a more concious effort to leave him with other people here and there during the day so he gets used to it:)

*Reached for daddy.

*Sits up if he is propped up by pillows.

*Loves having anyone read him a book. His favorite is "Put Me In The Zoo"

*Laughs a lot! Especially when daddy plays with him.

*Wakes up happy and entertains himself in his crib for about 10 minutes each morning. I think this accomplishment is my favorite. I love listening to him giggle and talk to himself. it starts our morning off right.

*He is a huge talker! He loves to hear his voice and so does mommy.

*He enjoys tummy time. Which has stopped his motivation for rolling over. But I figure he will roll over when he is ready too.

* He loves playing with toys. He can grab them from my hand and play with them for a little bit. He loves his glow worm and it can calm him down 90 percent of the time he is upset.

*He still loves to suck his thumb and his binky. Preferably at the same time if he can manage it.

*No teeth yet but has defiantly been teething and he is not a fan.

*He is finally taking good naps and falls asleep without being rocked to sleep.

*He loves to watch and observe people.

Well, I could go on and on forever about all the things he is doing now. It seems like everyday he learns and does something new. He surprises us everyday and we are so happy that he is part of our family. I love him so much and can't get enough of him. He is such a handsome little boy...probably because he looks so much like his handsome daddy!

Beach Day

On Friday Mike, James & I needed some family time. So we decided to go to the beach! It was so much fun!!! James loved the beach. He was so happy. He was laughing and cooing so much! It is a memory that I will always remember. It was a perfect day!

My big-little boy!

Grandma Karrie got James this fun thing. I thought he would be too little for it but to our surprise he wasn't. He fit great and loves it! The first time we put him in it he wasn't too sure about it. He only lasted about five minutes but everyday he is lasting longer and longer. The second time I put him in it I was busy cooking when all of a sudden I heard some rattling, cooing and laughing. He was playing with the toys and having the best time ever! I couldn't believe it! He is growing up so fast and I am loving every moment that we are in! He is such a smart boy and a quick learner!

Isaiah's Soccer Game

We went to Isaiah's soccer game last week and it was so much fun! He scored a goal and his team won! The weather was so great! It was the exact weather I had been longing for since leaving Utah. James LOVED the sunshine and just being out and about.

My SUPER talented Sister Brianne

I am so proud of my little sister Brianne. She has so many wonderful talents. She is defiantly a triple threat! She sings, dances and acts. Last week she auditioned for MVHS's Spring Musical and got the lead role. She will be playing Ariel in the musical "Footloose". She is so excited and we are excited for her! I can't wait to see her in the play. I know she will do great and will make fun memories that she will remember forever! She also just got accepted to BYU-Idaho. What a week she has had! I Love you Beenie Girl and I am excited to watch you continue to follow your dreams and succeed at anything you put your mind to!

P.S. The baby cry you hear in the background is the one and only Baby James! He couldn't let Auntie Beenie have all the attention ;)

Rub A Dub-Dub

James love, love, loves the bath! He is already a little splasher. He loves to kick his little feet and laughs at me when he gets me all wet. It is so much fun to give him baths! I am excited to take him swimming this summer! He is going to love it!

Hanging out with Dad

The other night Mike was helping me get James ready for bed and James was so happy to be a naked boy in his diaper so I let him hand out with daddy! They were so cute so I of course had to take pictures!

This is a new thing James started doing since James started teething.
He sucks on his bottom lip. So Cute!

James LOVES talking with dad

He just started doing this little trick when he is done being held.
He arches his back and scoots off your lap.

I love watching my boys play!

Life

This video was on a sweet friend of mine's blog and when I watched it I was humbled and reminded of how grateful I am to have James and be a mother. It took us a little over 2 years to get pregnant with James. It was the biggest struggle for me because all I have ever wanted to be was a mother. I always made promises to God that if He would bless me with a child I would love him/her unconditionally, I would never complain about the stress or struggles of being a stay at home mom and I would ALWAYS be grateful everyday for the blessing of being a mother. Well, that was a pretty intense promise and I don't know that anyone can truly live up to a promise (besides the unconditional love. That part comes natural) like that. I have been know to complain about feeling stuck in the house all the time, wanting time to myself or even begging and pleading with James in the first few weeks for just one more hour of sleep. I can't say that I will never want those things again but after watching this video I remembered how blessed I am to have a happy healthy boy. It breaks my heart that there are teenage girls out the world that get pregnant and end the pregnancy. I am finding more and more women that would give anything to have a baby and can't; while young, selfish girls destroy the life of sweet and innocent babies. After being pregnant I will argue with anyone that says that it is okay to abort before a certain time because the baby is just a cell or whatever stupid reason they give. I knew I was pregnant before I even took a pregnancy test. I knew that there was a life growing inside me. I felt a huge need to protect my baby from the first day I knew I was pregnant. I have always been the type of person to stay away from controversial and political issues but I have decided to be an activist on this issue. It is not right for a selfish young teenager that doesn't have a clue about their own life deciding the fate of someones life. We won't even let them vote on important and non important political issues but yet we let them determine what to do about another persons life. I have heard people say that a woman has the right because it is her body but she gave up that right when she chose to have sex. Where is the baby's rights. When I was struggling to get pregnant I remember thinking that there are so many good women that would make terrific mothers that can't get pregnant and adoption and invitro are so expensive and hard to do. And there are all these other women that are getting pregnant that don't want to be mothers and I couldn't understand why. Well, I still don't understand it but I do want to stand up and make my voice heard about being Pro-Life and also thinking of what is best for the baby over what you want. Well, that is my soapbox for the day. Please watch the video and pass it on to others.

Cute Boy

Super Bowl Sunday!

My brother Lance is a HUGE Colts fan and was thrilled that they were in the Super Bowl this year. Mike and I chose to root for the Saints. Well, Lance & Rose invited us over to watch the Super Bowl & anyone that knows Lance knows that he is SUPER competitive! So I did what any good sister would do and dressed James in the Saints colors! HeHeHe! I thought for sure Lance was going to kick us and our Saints supporting butts out but to my surprise Isaiah (Roses' son) was in support of the Saints too! He and James were matching!!! Well, it ended up being a GREAT game for those of us the chose the best team and a heartbreak for everyone else!!! Sorry Lancer...maybe next year...but probably not...unless Manning decides to start throwing the ball to his own teammates ;) HeHeHe

James new friend Natalie

Last week I got together with my friends Rachelle and Sarah and all our kids. I wish I would have busted my camera out earlier so I could have taken more pictures of all the kids but I have not been very diligent at taking pictures these days. Well, Rachelle's little girl Natalie loved little baby James! She could not get enough of him. It was so cute!

Father and Son Tricks

James LOVES his daddy! The other day Mike was playing with James and we were noticing how strong he is getting. So Mike started balancing him on his hand. It was so cute and James loved it! I LOVE my boys sooooo Much!!!

Sweet Moments

I just love my smiley boy! These days he is smiling and giggling up a storm. I will have to get it on video and post it! Anyways, he is getting to be so much fun. He is responding to so many things and is so observant. It is amazing how much he grows and changes every single day!

Our drive from Utah to California

I know this post is way past due but I came across these pictures and wanted to post about them. When we recently made our drive from Utah to California (in the middle of the night) we stopped in Cedar City, Utah to say hi to Mike's Grandma and Grandpa. So here is James with Great-Grandma Barbara and Great-Grandpa Gib:

We drove all night long... I mean Mike drove all night long while James, Puma and I slept. Anyways, when the morning came and James realized he was still in the car this was his reaction:

Too Cute!
