When we were in California for Thanksgiving we took family pictures. I can't believe how much James has changed since then (And I have lost more baby weight). It was such a beautiful day and of course the most beautiful background...the Ridley's backyard. James wasn't quite ready to wake up from his nap so he is half sleeping in all the pics.

James' Blessing Outfit

I was so sad because I didn't get a picture of James in his blessing tux on the day of his blessing due to an accidental blowout (it okay James we will blame it on the diaper;)). So yesterday, I decided to do a little photo shoot with my little guy before he doesn't fit in it anymore. The pictures turned out great if I do say so myself. This is my favorite picture! What a handsome boy!!! Just like his daddy!!!

2 Month Check Up

Wow! I can't believe how fast my baby boy James is growing! He had his 2 month check up today. It went really well...besides the horrible shots he got:(

Here are some of James' accomplishments:

Height: 22inches and 9th percentile

Weight: 10.5pounds and 14th percentile

He is smiling a ton...especially when he sees mommy!

He is making lots of noise cooing and almost laughing

He sleeps at least 7 hours a night (thank you babywise)

He is getting better at self-soothing (most of the time) during naps and at night

He wakes up happy in the morning (most mornings). Some mornings I will wake up to him cooing in his crib. When I go to get him out of his crib he gives me the biggest & happiest smile!

His favorite thing to do is be laid out on a blanket on the floor and kick his little chicken legs

He also enjoys his swing and being rocked in his rocking chair by mommy

His mouth has recently found his hand and sometimes his thumb.

He LOVES taking a bath. Especially when his bath is on the counter where he can see in the mirror.

He loves his binky but I have made a point to put him to bed without it in his mouth and now he spits it out right before he falls asleep. (I have nothing against putting babies to bed with a binky. But everytime his binky would fall out at night it would wake him up and I would have to search for it and put it back in. So it is easier to not have it at night! For me anyways!)

James is such a sweet baby and is looking more and more like daddy everyday! I am loving each moment I have and trying not to wish for any other stage than the stage he is in. It helps that he is getting to be so playful, fun & expressive! I love watching him grow and discover new things.

Santa Clause is Coming to Town

Tonight was Mike's family Christmas party. It was so much fun. And most importantly Santa came so I finally got a picture of James with Santa! He was good. He didn't get scared at all however, I think next year will be different! Anyways, Santa gave James a Mercer Mayer book. He really likes all the colors in the book and soon enough he will enjoy the story too! Christmas is so much more fun with a James around and I know it is just going to get better in years to come! I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Christmas!

2 Months Old

I can't believe my little boy is 2 months old already! He is such a sweet kid. Mike calls him our Angel Child! He is just that. He isn't perfect, there are times when I feel like pulling my hair out but for the most part he is a very good and happy baby. I will be able to give more detailed stats after his next doctor appointment on the 29th. All I can say is he has been such a blessing in our life and I am more than enjoying my role as a mother. It helps that he has been sleeping at least 6-8 hours a night since he was about 6 weeks old. And now he is doing better at taking good naps during the day. I attribute his good sleeping habits to following a book called "Baby Wise". Not only does he sleep well at night and take good naps but I can lay him down to sleep while he is awake and most the time he will fall asleep on his own. I have to admit I am not very good at doing that though because I love rocking him but at least I have the option if needed!

Fireman Boots fom the General

Since James is the grandson of a Colonel in the US Army he has had privilege to meet a few Generals. One of them was so sweet and brought him a gift. These boots were one of them. They are the cutest thing and I have been meaning to take a picture of him in them.

Puma

Its been a while since I have posted about Puma. We still love her so much and play with her everyday. Everyone said that we would not care for Puma as much as we did before James got here but it isn't true. She is actually the one that is less interested in playing and snuggling with us. She is transforming from a cuddly kitten to an independent cat. It's kind of weird. Anyways, Puma has always been very trainable. We have taught her to not ever play with her claws, scratch the couch, to use her litter box or the bushes, and to keep a distance from James, ect. However, it has been impossible to keep her out of James' crib when he is not in it. She is so silly. She loves his blankets and his crib!

Daddy & James Snuggle Time

I went and got ready for bed and came in and saw this cute moment! I wanted to take a picture so bad but I didn't want to wake my sweet boys with the flash! Luckily, Joe was at the house and took these with his phone. Mike is so sweet with James. He is such a good dad and is so willing to help me with James. I love my boys!

Santa Baby

I dressed James up in a little Santa suit for our Ward Christmas Breakfast. I was bummed we had to leave before Santa got there to take pictures but Santa will ba making an appearance at Mike's family Christmas Party this Sunday! Can't wait!

Self-Soothing

I have been much better at waiting and letting James cry and self-soothe himself back to sleep. So about two weeks ago he finally did it and when I looked in his crib I saw that the binky was out and he had found his hand instead. It was so cute and I have been trying to get a picture of it and finally did! He still loves his binky but at least now he has an alternative in case he can't find it. Yay!

James & Regan

Last night we went over to the Mahoney's to hang out & play games. It was so much fun. It was so cute to see Regan and James finally meet. She was so excited to hold him and kept giving him kisses on the forehead. Too Cute!!!

A little Under the weather...

Poor baby James has been a little stuffed up and not feeling well. It is so sad to see my sweet little boy not feeling well. The other night he kept gagging everytime we would lay him on his back so we lined his carseat with a soft cushy blanket and put it in his crib and that is how he slept. Luckily, he still slept really good even though he wasn't feeling good. He slept six hours instead of his usual seven so I can't complain! What a sweet boy! I just love him soooo much!!!

Missing Pregnancy...

I know it sounds crazy but I miss being pregnant. I love having James here too! I don't miss being extremely uncomfortable but I miss the excitement of it all. Watching Ashley get her hospital bag together & preparing for her sweet little girl to come brought back so many emotions and memories. It is fun to be involed and part of her excitement. I loved that feeling of knowing that you are about to meet this little baby that has been growing inside you for so long. I remember just before James was born that I couln't remember what it felt like to not be pregnant. I loved feeling James move around in my belly (except for all the times he kicked me in the ribs;). Anyways, I LOVE being a mom & having James here but I do look forward to having more children. Don't worry we aren't planning anything yet, it was just a thought!

Best Friends

I love watching little miss Brooklynn play with Baby James! She is so cute with him and just loves him so much! When I walk in the door she gets so excited and shouts "Baby James!" It is so cute! She is such a sweet little girl. She loves to help in any way she can. She will make sure he has his binky at all times and his blanket. If he cries she looks at me and says "baby James crying?" I will say, "yes he is" and she gets so concerned and will go to him and say "it's okay baby James"! She is too cute and is getting lots of practice for baby sister to get here! I can't wait til James is big enough to play with Brooklynn! It is fun to see Brooklynn & James together and so sureal. I love that after about 18 years of friendship, Ashley and I are still BFF and watching our kids become friends!

I just came across this picture. This is about a week befor James was born & Ashley will be having her baby any day now! So fun!!!

James' Baby Blessing

Words cannot describe the many emotions I felt during his blessing. James was given the most beautiful blessing and I could not believe how many people we had there that love and support us. I feel so blessed to have a sweet and wonderful husband that has kept his covenants and was able to bless our sweet little boy. James is such a blessing in our lives. I was so nervous that he would be fussy during his blessing but he wasn't. I tried so hard to get him to fall asleep before I handed him off to Mike but he didn't want to sleep. My step-dad said that during the blessing he peeked at James a few times and every time he had the biggest smile on his face. It truly was a perfect day (besides the CRAZY snowstorm we had that morning). I LOVE my boys sooo much! Thank you to everyone that was there to support us!
