Back to Utah

Well, I am going to be honest and say that things did not go as we planned here in California. I have no regrets about coming though. It has been so much fun to spend time with family and friends here. I have really loved watching my family play with and get to know James. But where one fun journey ends another fun one begins. So we are moving back to Utah. I am sad to leave my family here but excited to go back to Utah. As Mike and I have been doing some planning I had this weird feeling like I was going back home. I thought that was weird because we have been staying at my mom's house in the city I grew up in. What I realized was that my adult life has been in Utah. It is where my own little family began. Mike and I dated up there, spent majority of our marriage there and had our sweet little boy there. I don't know if Utah will be "home" forever but for now it feels more like home than anywhere else. We are very excited. Mike will be going back to school so we will be living the fun but poor college student life but it feels good to do! Provo, here we come!!!

6 months old

I can't believe how fast these past 6 months have gone. James has gotten so big. I never thought Mike and I would have such a little chunker...but I love it!!! He is such a healthy and happy boy! We could not ask for more! Here are a few things about James:

weight: 15 lbs. 3 oz.
height: 24 inches
head: 17 inches

*James eyes are still blue with a hint of brown in the middle. Just like daddy's. They are beautiful. He has mommy's shape and eyelashes with daddy's color. What a great combo!
*James enjoys sitting up to play with his toys.
*Still hates being on his tummy; even though he can roll over on his tummy he won't. When we put him on his tummy he rolls over immediately.
*Has no interest in crawling but has a ton of interest in walking. I know it is good for their motor skills to crawl first so still trying to encourage it.
*He can pull himself up by holding on to your hands. Then he will move his feet like he is walking. I don't know where he figured that out because I haven't encouraged walking yet.
*Still LOVES to hear his own voice and has become a very loud yeller.
*His favorite thing to yell is of course "dadada". It is too cute!
*Anytime Mike or anyone starts singing he tries to sing too.
*He wants to sit up like a big boy in his car seat. I need to take a picture of it! He will be all buckled in and he will lift his head and chest to sit up but the straps wont let him.
*He loves watching other kids. I can see in his eyes that he just wants to get up and play with them.
*He eats rice cereal with apple juice in it & is learning to like green beans. He is becoming a very good eater. And I think he wants to nurse forever... I have to feed him his solid food first or he won't eat it after nursing. No matter how much solid food he eats he will always nurse the same amount.
*He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES drinking from daddy's cup or anyone's but dad always let him drink from his (with help, of course). Surprisingly, he is really good at it too.
*He is a great sleeper. He sleeps about 10 hours a night and takes 3 naps a day for at least 2 hours each. He still plays in his crib after he wakes up for about 10-15 min. I love listening to him talk to himself and play. There is no better noise than a happy and content baby.

Well, I could go on for days about my little boy so I will stop here! But we feel so lucky to have him in our lives. It has only been 6 months but I can't remember what life was like before he came into our lives. We love our little snuggler!

P.S. - Mike is bothered that I have these pictures on here. So I told him I would at least be honest with all of you even though I am a thief. I will be purchasing these prints this week but I couldn't wait to put them up so I took a picture of them and put them up! Yes, I am a thief but a fairly honest one;)

Saying Goodbye to Family

I know I did these post out of order but oh well! Here are a few pictures of the family saying bye to James before the headed back to Utah. It was so much fun to have them here and I am glad they got to know James a little better!

I love this picture. It shows how much
grandma loves her little boy.
Megs & I taking a picture of eachother
James loved chewing on this ketchup packet

Rachel and James

Thanks for coming out to visit us. We had so much fun & look forward to see you in a couple of weeks!!! Love you family!!!

Oceanside Beach

James had a doctor's appointment the morning of our beach day. I wish I could have changed it but it took me over a month to even get this appointment. Anyways, James did great at his appointment and only cried for a minute when he was given his shots but later that day he started to feel pain and it broke my heart. Once the Tylenol kicked in he was as happy as could be and we all really enjoyed our beautiful day at the beach!

Disneyland!!!

The Lamoureux's (Mom, Dad, Megs, Rachel & Gil) came down to California for Spring Break and it was so much fun! I am pretty sure James and I did more in two days than we have done since he was born! Here is our day at Disneyland:

James & Grandma catching up
after being apart for almost 3 months

James' first Disneyland ride: Pirates of the Carribean
He LOVED it!

Disneylands Best Kept Secret... A Mother's Lounge
There is comfy chairs to Nurse your baby, high chairs,
changing tables, little kid bathroom & they even sell
diapers, wipes & formula if you need it.

Always have to get a picture in front of
Cinderella's Castle

In line for "It's a Small World".
It was a CRAZY long line!

Auntie Megs, James & GrandBob

James fell asleep right before we got on the ride &
slept the entire ride.

Rach & Mike

Mike had a carrot in his mouth & James wanted it!

Always have to do our tricks!
They scared a few mothers that walked by.

James and Grandpa

Mr. Toad's Wild Adventure

James and Uncle Gilbert

Playing with Grandpa and laughing so hard!

Eating Grandpa's sweatshirt

Walking through the Line at Indiana Jones...
We LOVE Fast Pass!

I wasn't sure how James would do at Disneyland because I am all about keeping to a schedule and James is pretty particular about taking naps in his crib but it turned out to be a great day! He did really well and really enjoyed watching all the people. I had never seen James so tired as I did at the end of that day. He was so cute!!! I wish I would have taken a picture of his "tired eyes". It was the most precious thing I had ever seen but it also made me look like and irresponsible mother! All in all, it was a fun day and we made great memories!

Hoppy Easter

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! We definatly did! My battery on my camera was dead so I have to get pictures from my grandma. But it was such a nice day. James loved the bubbles in his easter basket and I loved his candy ;).
These pictures were taken about a month ago but I finally got them. James was able to take pictures with a real, live bunny. It was so cute and tiny. I felt so bad for that poor little bunny. James thought it was his own personal toy. He kept knocking it down and even tried to eat it. What a silly little boy!

Happy Easter!!!

Picture I love

So peaceful

Love those little piggies

This was for Grandpa Tim...Go Dodgers!

I felt so bad. If you look closely you can see crusted spit up on his face.
He must have spit up while he was sleeping. So sad!

My little Cheerleader

James is a little flyer. I walked into the kitchen one day and Mike said "Steph watch! Like Mother, Like Son." I laughed so hard. All my pictures are in Utah still otherwise I would have put one of me doing the same stunt when I was in HS! HeHeHe!!!

5 months old

I can't believe that my baby is 5 months old. He is growing so fast and learning new things every day. It is so much fun to watch him learn and discover new things everyday.

About James:

Weight- 15 lbs.Height- 23 inches

*He laughs a ton.
*He loves music and tries to sing with you.
*He hates tummy time so much that he will instantly roll on his back whenever I put him on his tummy.
*He loves to grab and play with hair.
He HATES teething more than anything.
*He plays in his crib for about 15min. every morning when he wakes up.
*He loves to yell...especially at church.
*He loves to pull on Puma's tail and loves animals...it grosses me out but he thinks it is so funny when Rose's dogs lick his face.
*He enjoys taking naps with Puma (still)*He loves Peek A Boo and when you jump out and scare him.
*He can't sit through an entire book anymore because he just wants to eat it ;)
*I feel like a bad mom but he has favorite T.V. shows: Robot Dance A Lot, The Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & The Imagination Movers. He only likes the songs though.
*He loves being thrown in the air...especially when I throw him to Mike.
*He loves doing tricks with daddy
*He just started this funny panting/hyperventilation thing when he gets excited or frustrated. It's so funny but we are trying to get him to grow out of it.
